Reducing our environmental impact

In addition to our efforts to advance the global climate action agenda and educate investors about the management of environmental risks in their portfolio, we are committed to reducing our own environmental impact as much as possible.

We are taking steps to cut our carbon footprint by optimising infrastructure efficiency, including the building of cutting-edge low-carbon headquarters, supporting green mobility and streamlining our consumption.

    Replaced lighting with LED at Pictet HQ

    Optimised temperature in technical rooms and data centres in Geneva and Zurich to reduce electricity consumption

    Installed open-door alerts for cold storage rooms

    Switched to 100% electric cars at lease renewal

    Added 70 electric vehicle chargers in Geneva office parking

  • Consumption optimisation

    Launched initiative to reduce food waste by selling leftover meals in Pictet HQ cafeteria at half price

    Removed PET plastics from HQ vending machines

Targets for our operations have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative to verify they are in line with science: we are committed to reducing our absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55% by 2030 from 2019 levels.

A long tradition of philanthropy

As the planet is endangered and globalisation increasingly shows its detrimental side effects, we must be a force for good for our communities and for future generations. The Pictet Group Foundation continues the tradition of philanthropic work undertaken by Pictet’s partners in the fields of medical research, culture, social and humanitarian causes. Efforts are focused on the following key areas: environment and education, nutrition, and water.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

As a firm, we are open-minded and open to all. We want to create a culture that enables our employees to develop and reach their potential. We have taken steps to create a diverse and inclusive workforce and have set up partnerships with organisations that allow employees to balance their personal and professional lives, encourage participation in charitable engagement, and make a difference in the fields of socio-economic mobility, minority representation and gender diversity.

Prix Pictet

In 2008 the partners of the Pictet Group created the Prix Pictet prize to draw worldwide attention to and stimulate action on issues of sustainability through the medium of photography. Since foundation, the Prix Pictet has focused on environmental and social themes beginning with Water, followed by Earth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Hope, Fire and Human.
